About Paul

Paul has always had an interest in artistic expression, be it cartoon doodling, studying record sleeve artwork or through simple experimentation with various forms or medium, the drive to create was strong.

Over the years Paul has developed landscape and seascape painting with oil as the preferred medium presenting a loose yet bold and vibrant feel to his works with his signature palette knife style.

Inspiration comes from the rugged coastlines of Northern England and Scotland where the skies, cliffs, working boats and lure of the sea often meet to create dramatic and foreboding landscapes.

Paul has been further developing his skills beyond his established style into the realms of semi-impressionist oil painting using expressive knife work, to generate bold, loose and colourful compositions that capture the ever-present beauty of our changing landscapes.

Paul’s work has gone into both commercial and private collections.

Personal viewings and tutoring can be booked by appointment.
